Dutch Captain: Barent Maartenszoon Boom
Barent Maartenszoon Boom served the Admiralty of Zeeland. In 1672, he fought in the Battle of Solebay. Through 1672, he commanded the frigate Visschers Harder (26 guns). He fought in the First Schooneveld Battle, where he commanded the frigate Goes (34 guns). He was born in Zierikzee on 30 September 1639. In 1672, he was appointed as a Schout-bij-Nacht. He died on 29 January 1687 when his ship exploded.
