Cornelis Tijbij was Bastiaan Tuyneman's lieutenant at Dover on 29 May 1652

In August, Cornelis Tijbij now commanded the fireship Ostende, a frigate. Later in 1653, he commanded a Directors' ship from Zeeland, the Luipaard.
